Blue anemone dye job?

Hello. I purchased a Blue Anemone from my local saltwater shop. I have never had any issues with them in the past, but I am a little bit suspisious of my new anemone. She is a dinner plate size blue carpet that I have now had for about two weeks. She is host to four percula clowns and is eating well. I have seen blue carpets before that are bright blue. Mine seems to be a very light blue with darker blue around the edges. In the last few days the color in her disc area seems to have green highlights. Does anyone know how to tell if this anemone was dyed? If so is there anything I can do to save her from a slow suffering death? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

coral dye is getting common, its a last chance for more $$ in the LFS biz, so its a good chance it is dyed. sometimes they dont die, just lose there color.

It like when they use to dye bunnies and chicks for easter, It's ashame they still do it with coral and anemone. Been going on for years, then for along time I didn't see it and it seems to be coming back, or maybe it was the fact that I haven't seen it in years and now they are popping backup

I guess the dyed anenome trick goes on in the developed world also. I've seen it in Indonesia but its generally done by the poor fish hawker trying to get $10 for a bright red or blue anenome rather than the $5 a normal colored anenome will fetch. I'm surprised that a LFS in the developed world would resort to such trickery but I guess they are as greedy as anywhere.

I purchased a bright red anenome from the local market that over a few weeks lost all its color and went to pure white. I'm guessing they soaked the anenome in water with food coloring for a few weeks. Surprising the anenome ended up living and looks great but not as special as the bright red.
