can you explain your setup? Surgeonfish need ample space, and if you had 5 in one tank I'd hope it would be, at the bare minimum, in the 200 gallon range. They're territorial and feed all day long in the wild, so mimicing those needs is important.

I agree ......I have 5 tangs in my 265 and I feel that I'm topped out. I would venture a guess that they were in a smaller tank which caused stress which in turn made them susceptible to the ich

What size tank is that? It looks like something in the 50 gallon range. Definitely not large enough for one tang, regardless of size, much less 5. These type of fish like to swim a lot, and cramming them into a tank with less than about 6 feet of length will often result in stressed out fish and disease.

I would not recommend tangs in a 75 gallon tank. At the most, a single species from the Ctenochaetus genus would possibly be ok, but most of them are way too much fish for a 75. To avoid ich, you'll want to make sure you've got a healthy environment, adequate food, and you're selecting healthy specimens. Cramming 5 in a 75 would only lead to health issues.
