75 mini-pred tank

Help me out with a fish list!

I'm confident I'm going to go with some type of toby puffer, a hawkfish and a hamlet.

other things that I'm thinking about so far are maybe a pseudochromis/dottyback or a FO wrasse
thought about a dwarf lion and an angler but I really don't think they'd be compatible with other fish I might try.

So I'm looking for some species suggestions or even other ideas completely

also I may go for a rabbitfish or foxface for algae control

thanks all

with smallish fish like that i would stay away from frogfish/anglers. dwarf lions may be a good choice depending on the species. the only one i would be confident in recommending would be the fu man chu dwarf or Dendrochirus biocellatus. this is the only one that is smaller than the toby puffer.

wrasses are tough with any kind of slow moving tank mates. they steal food from everyone.

Hey Geoff
that's what I was thinking... the angler might eat somebody else and the puffer might nip at the lion if the lion can't eat the puffer

eitherway doesn't sound good... I guess somewhere between 3-5 fish depending on size/aggression would be the way to go

there are several different types of hawkfish. they look pretty different so they could be a neat little display.

In my more agressive tank, I've got a sailfin tang, a niger trigger, and a peacock puffer, along with 2 damsels that I can't catch. They all go very well together!!

Thinking about a FOWLR tank...My LFS has some nice looking redspotted hawkfish. Would they be OK with a clown or picasso trigger? How about a yellow tang to boot? It's a 110 tall and I'm looking to get together a fish list....

those mean triggers are tough to keep with any other fish. the only chance you have is to introduce them last and get real small ones. i would also make sure the fish that you have added before them are healthy and have had them for a very long period of time. once a mean trigger is added it is very difficult to add another fish without the trigger going after it.

How about a trigger only tank? Can you mix up species of triggers? On another note, have you ever heard of anyone keeping a whitespotted filefish? Carribean origin.
