will these octopus even live?

came acrossed this searching for cheap deals on ebay...

they seem like a really cool tank creature to have and if the're not to bad to take care of it would be a nice addition to a tank all of its own..

jw what other people think about octopus and takin care of them

they are short lived. most only live for one year.

they are extremely inteligent, most cases smarter than the hobbiest trying to keep them. most of the time they are found dead outside the tank. they like to find ways to escape.

Females die shortly after their eggs hatch. They neglect to eat during the (roughly) one month period spent taking care of their unhatched eggs, but they don't die of starvation. Endocrine secretions from the two optic glands are the cause of genetically-programmed death

what about the males? i knew the females died after the eggs hatched, but i can not remember about the males.
