Yep, Sandsifting stars arnt ment for small aquariums, I learned the hard way too (thanks to a stupid LFS) I did the same exact thing. Star in a 12 gal NC only to find out that they will slowly fall apart from starvation after they eat all the microfauna out of the sandbed.

ugh, that's so sad. I thought that he would be perfect in there! I still don't know if he starved or if he was just a victim of changes in salinity and pH but we officially lost him earlier this evening... I feel like such a murderer. RIP Nigel...

It always sucks, no matter how tiny or seemingly insignificant the life may seem... and it always makes me cry. But it was also a learning experience, I suppose...

It's never easy losing anything but we have all done it. Using it as a learning experience is the best thing
