should be fine. which clowns are you interested in? the flame hawk may be a bit aggressive, but overall the fish list is reasonable.

those are pretty benign, a good choice. Some of the other choices (such as the Tomato or Gold Stripe) are rather territorial and can be very aggressive, so they don't always make the best addition to smaller setups, but the perculas should be fine.

Are you planning on keeping any shrimp like peppermints, cleaners and such? If so, you may want to skip the hawkfish.
The Ornate wrasse will also need to be watched with inverts.

He said FOWLR.
I'd put in the Hawkfish last because he is the most aggressive of them all!

So nobody puts inverts in FOWLR's. No cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs or snails? That's news to me, I thought it simply implied no corals.

I often assume the same thing, and I don't think either way is implied by simply stating FOWLR.

Well to be honest i am a little on the fence about the hawk. I had one before and he was one of my favorite fish to watch, but i know that i wont be able to add any crabs or snails.
Plus im thinking that if i decide to go to a reef later he would be a pain to try to catch.

flame hawk won't touch snails or hermits, it's ornamental shrimp that you have to be worried about. and even then, I have a flame hawk in my mixed reef tank with 4 shrimp and it's never been a problem.

So is it sort of a guessing game then? 50/50 chance that he will or is it because you have a larger system?

its probably more of a guessing game because if you had a 100 gallon tank and you had food at one end and you did the same thing with a 50 gallon the result would be the same it would get eaten so it probably depends on the fishes personality or what not
