Urgent Help!!! Cloudy Eye on Black Tang

Hi all,

I got a Black Tang yesterday (BD's gift) and it was doing fine and in good shape. I noticed it got one cloudy eye this morning. It still eating and playing but I'm really worry for it. I really don't know what happened over night.

Please advise on what I can/should do to help it. Or should I just leave it alone and it will fix itself?

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

The best solution RIGHT NOW is just to monitor it. As long as the fish is eating/swimming normally, I would do no preventative measures. These measures are much more likely to introduce more stress to the situation, which will only increase problems.

But, can you elaborate on what type of setup it is in (hopefully a QT since it's a new fish), what size it is, what it is eating, how much and how often it eats, other fish that may share its home, etc.?

Crvz,

I have 10chromis, 1 Blue Tang, and a lawn mower blenny that sharing this tank. It is a 180g tank and water specs is good. Unfortunately I did not have this fish QT as my gf just bought for me as a BD's gift last night and put in the tank without my present. I fed some brine shrimp that mix with Spirulina algae and it was eating it. I hope it is not so serious.

Thanks,

Is water change helps on this case? I'm thinking of do %10 or %20 water change.

It never hurts to do a partial water change; however, if all of your parameters are good I am not sure that it will change anything with this condition.

Guys,

Thanks so much for help so far. I noticed the Tang doing better this morning, the eye is less cloudy and I'm not sure what happened. I will dose vitamins and garlic to his food just and hopefully it will get cured completely. I'm soooooooo happy for it.

Thanks again for helps.
