Pearly Headed Jawfish (a zooplankton feeder). Needs sand bed though so not BB reef compatible.

Someone want to put an organized list together? We could edit it down or add to it. Just thought that might make an easy reference guide...the TRT Reef Safe Fish. We'll publish it in all the marine journals

Nice site...I agree reef consiousness is important. Their list is more relavant to appropriate/inappropriate species to keep in a tank...and not necessarily based on reef-safeness as discussed here.

Clown gobies, neon cleaner gobies, A lot of sand sifting gobies are reef safe... Many types of blennys... Too many fish to really sit down and type out.

mostly depends on what in the reef you want to keep....
probably one of the most universally accepted is clownfish.
Think the firefish was a great suggestion.
Anyone up for a pajama or bangai cardinal?
One of the online vendors has fish split up in reefsafe, and not
but can't think of which it is off hand, most have it in their description though.

WOAH! Clownfish? I'm affraid I have to disagree with you there. Clowns are good fish, but tehy get too territorial around other fish. I find that they need too much space to be universaly accepted.
Bad experience for me also with clowns:
Clown picked on and killed a hippo tang, a cleaner shrimp, and my favorite FIRE FISH lol

I think the contents of this link should be considered http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=69430
To summarize, for most, reef safe fish are those who do not eat coral, and for some, reef safe also means they will not eat other reef dwelling creatures like snails, shrimp, other inverts.

Sounds like you had a bad experience, but clownfish are one of the most universally accepted reef safe fish.
