Tomini Tang

All of you that have or have had them, do they have some odd behavior like adopting a rock?

I figure if they do, you will know just what I mean. If not, my tomini is crazy!

I've never noticed mine to have an attraction to a rock

Mine has started swimming around(top around to bottom) in circles around one rock. He has been doing this almost continually for 2 days.

It's not grounded currently but there is also no stray voltage present. Checked it yesterday.

I'm thinking of getting a Tomini, I'm going to tag along on this thread

I've heard of damsels "tending" to certain areas and "farming" algae. Maybe its similar behavior? Maybe he is checking it over? Maybe he is crazy?

The rock he is circling is the only rock in the tank with hair algae.

If he's swimming and making left turns... has he been watching too much Nascar?
Do you have a pic? - I'm curious as to what he looks like.

If possible, can you please post if you notice him actually eating the hair or other types of algae? Bristletooth tangs like the Tomini have teeth adapted for scraping rocks and generally prefer diatom type algaes. I have read that they will avoid the longer fuzzy types of algae due to problems with it getting caught in their teeth (it's what I read at a few different sites, please don't laugh). I have always wanted one but I want to make sure that I can keep him fed. Thanks
