tomini & kole tang

I know that I want to get Kole tang for my 180 gallon tank. I want another tang in the tank. I was thinking of getting a tomini tang. I know that they are in the same genus and have similar coloring/shape. I know that they could fight, but part of me want to include them in the same tank. Is their a chance that they could live peacefully? I just want another kind of peaceful tang in the tank (6-8 inches perfeablly).

Don't know a Tomini.But it's a gamble because they are the same shape.a better chance with a different shape Tang.

In a 180 I'd say you should be fine. Defined swimming room vs the quantity of tangs you have is good. Plus the Koles and Bristletooth tangs are a few of the smallest and least aggressive.

There are other choices of peaceful tangs (mimic, convict, atlantic blue, etc.), but you have some chance of success with those two in a tank that large.

I had a Kole tang in my 135. And I had to take him out because he killed my yellow headed sleeper goby, and then tried to do in my lawnmower blenny. During this whole ordeal I came up on a whole bunch of threads on RC about kole's attacking not only similar tangs, but anything that eats his food source. And I saw him in action, he was vicious......to be on the safe side I would create extra hiding space even though its a 180 gallon

it shuld be ok if you can put them in at same time! and size!! i have put same tomini tang and and hawaii kole tank!! in a 150 gallons tank! good luck
