to many fish

I have a 2" pacific blue, 4" kole tang, and a 4" foxface. I would like to add a yellow tang at some point. I have a 6' long 180g tank. Would I be crazy to do this? Will they over crowd the tank when full grown? I believe that would be to many fish, just wanted some opinions. Thanks

I'm no tang expert but that sounds like too many to me

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

I think you could get away with it. I've seen 180s with that much and a bit more that seemed to do fine.

Im no expert.... But you only have 3 fish.. 180gal is quite a bit of room. Weird that this comes up, just the other day I was talking to a guy a my LFS that has a 180gal reef with prolly 200lbs of LR and he had all 3 of the fish you have plus a Purple Tang and a Koran Angel. Like I said im not expert but I believe you should be fine with adding a yellow considering yellow tangs are one of the smaller tangs out there.

The only thing I think that was not mentioned above to to make sure you have filtration that will handle the situation. I would consider three or more large tangs as bordering on a heavy bioload on a 180 (big eaters, big poopers), but there is still room for smaller fish too if you plan the right filtration

Yeah that is probably a little undersized for the tank, but something working is better than nothing not removing anything

As I mentioned I'm really impressed with the octopus extreme line as well as the MSX skimmers. See if one might fit in your budget and space in the future. You will want something with at least a 8-10" body that fits under that stand with a good pump and plenty of air
