Time to hire a cleanup crew...

The reff tank that I just put into my wife's salon has been doing well over the past couple weeks. Red algae is growing in a few spots that I can't reach with a scrubber and on top of a long piece of live rock.

It's a 55-gallon tank with live rock, chulerpa, 2 clowns, 2 cleaner shrimp, a coral banded shrimp, sea apple, yellow tang, flame angel, watchman gobi and a royal grama.

I think my next step should be cleaners and sand-stirrers... but which ones and how many?

Any ideas?

If it were my tank I'd add about 10-20 large turbo snails cause those shrimp will take care of the larger uneaten foods stuff, also bc the CBS can be a bit of trouble with hermits and other small critters. I don't really have anything to stir the sand except bristle worms and my goby, but brittle stars are always a good choice.

Large turbo snails... how big do they get?

Good point about the hermits.... I tried to get the CBS outta there (those boys are *quick!*), but he hasn't attacked the fish or the cleaners, so I'm going to keep him in there.

Thanks for the advice!

I've got 2 turbos that are over 2", but most in 1" size can fend for themselves.
