Welcome to TRT
You can try rearranging the rock work to disrupt the Tangs territory

Welcome to TRT!!!

yea, tangs can be pretty mean when they have had run of the tank for a while. introducing fish at night is one trick for easing new fish into a grumpy old fishes territory. the other is what Kelli was saying. rearranging the tank so that the grumpy fish does not feel like it is home anymore and goes into defensive mode.

I had the same problem, I used a different albeit unorthodox method. I realized that the tang did not like having a flashlight pointed at it, so whenever the tang went for the angel i shined the light on him. He would then back off and hide for a while...I repeated this till he got the message. He has left the angel alone now and theyve been fine for 6 months. If you want you could try introducing a new fish to take the tangs attention off the angel and give it time to settle. Just my 2 censt..Good luck
