Skunk cleaner shrimp

I recently bought a cleaner shrimp from my LFS. I was going to buy two, because I thought they would be more social. It just keeps hidding behind all the rock, so it is a waste of 40 bucks. Anyone have any idea if I buy another if they would be more daring to come out during the day?

Wow $40 that seems really high to me.....I think my LFS is $20 for them. Ok he is in a new the new guy in the tank. Give him a week or two and he will be out all over. He needs to get use to your tank first. I know when i first got my watchman gobies i didnt see them for 3 weeks. Give him time he will start coming out more.

I agree with tims. Give him a little time and he will be out and about. Mine even climbs on my hand. 40 buck is a rip. I know that I can get one here for 20 bucks.

Cleaner shrimp make great additions - they are entertaining and "trainable" to a certain degree. Much more fun to watch than peppermint shrimp IMO. The LFS charges $29 for large CS and $24 for small ones. Expensive but they are fun - - and you can keep more than one.

the cleaning station that mine uses most of the time is under an overhand, where i can only see a little of him at a time...except when he's ready to eat or anytime i stick my hand in the tank...then he's out in a second. or when my lights are off, he's all over the tank then. so did yours start to come out more yet?

I got mine for $40 a pair. $40 each is a little too much. Yep, give them time to get used to the tank. In a month or so you will see some eggs floating around.
