here's my tiny (2") little ocellaris. dunno how ppl got such great clown pics - mine's always booting all over the tank.... (s)he seems to especially like riding the current from the korelias, lol. please try to ignore all the diatom and ugly still-bare rock, it's still a very very new tank (set up aug21 this year)

is it true that tank-raised clowns rarely host 'nems? if i get a 2nd ocellaris (misbar or black/white we can tell them apart from this one) and it's a wild one, would it show the tank-raised how to behave with an anemone (one i get an anemone anyway, lol)?

Captive bred clowns will host anemones...my Maroons are proof of that...in my tank my male started out first...also red this per ora site on captive bred clowns hosting
Quote:
One popular misconception about cultured clownfish is that they will not symbiotically associate with anemones like their wild counterparts. This is not true, as demonstrated by the many professional and amateur aquarists who have observed cultured clownfish associate with host anemones in aquariums. In fact, some tank-reared fish are observed to associate with unusual hosts such as large-polyp stony corals and corallimorph anemones.

Here are my black & white percula - I just got them the other week. I was also thinking about getting a true percula or a naked ocellaris also, but I'm not sure if that would be alright to do. I don't have much exp with clown fish.
