SHOOT!!! Clownfish disease

I have a wild caught pair of nemos in my 24 gallon and they have a few patches of the clownfish disease. (My conclusion after researching on this board including pics). I am so bummed because the female is ginormous and it must have taken her a long time in the wild to get that big and then one week in MY tank and BAM....I kill her! I hate it when they die. I have no set up for a hospital tank but I do have a cleaner shrimp in the tank. Are there any chances she and he will recover on their own?

Do a search for Brooklynella. That should give you what you are looking for. Usually not good.

Brooklynella disease is pretty hard to cure. i am very sorry. the only cure for this parasite that i am aware is formalin bathes. But am not to sure if it is 100% effective

here is a very good photo of what Brooklynella looks like... i hope this helps

It looks like the kind of "stuff" on his scales is the same, kind of powdery and white, but mine is not nearly that bad.....yet. It has been two days and he actually seems better today, eating well and swimming fine. But perhaps it is just the evil parasites taking a break!! Time will tell. It is kinda cute that the way I knew something was wrong with him was that suddenly he wasn;t shadowing his mate around anymore. They were like little twins before! He is back to following her around, but not as much as at first. Say a prayer for my little baby!
