Royal Gramma gone AWOL?

Hi y'all,

Same here ... my pretty Royal Gramma is "missing" in my 24G NanoCube.

For a couple weeks he had been partially hiding with quite frequent excursions around the tank. Definitely out at feeding times.

However (coincidentally a few days after adding a good sized Emerald Crab which took over his favorite hiding place) he has been totally missing.
No evidence of death.

Could he have found a nice hole in the LR (facing into one of the caves) perhaps...I reckon so.

I'm not dismantling my aquascape to find out!

I've already tried the nightime searchlight trick ...

All three times I never found mine even with removing the rocks the first two times. It seems that when you do finally notice they are missing it is already far too late.

You could try a fish trap but even then no gauruntees you will catch the right oe if it is still in your tank.

Darned Gramma had jumped into the filter compartment. I had checked the back compartments with a flashlight before ... bit he had ducked beneath the first layer of foam, so it wasn't 'til I extracted all the foam for feeding that he showed up!

Happily swimming around the tank again, hours before I was going to buy something to replace ...
