Regal blue tang

Just wondering what success people have with the regal blue tang. I have read mixed reviews. I would like to add one last fish and am considering this one. I have a 120g with a yellow tang, 2 clowns, a royal gramma, 3 blue green chromis, a yellowtail damsel and scooter blenny. Tank has been established for about 8 months.

i've had great success . fat as a horse ! the trick is to get one that is swimming around and basically looks happy , and make sure you see it eat before purchase .

Get one a bit bigger than your yellow. He might get bullied as the last fish and they are not an aggressive fish.

Sounds good so far. I have read that they are real ich magnets. When I introduced the yellow tang it developed ich but the cleaner shrimp did its job and a few days later it was gone. My gramma also had it when first introduced to tank, would not go near shrimp but after a few weeks it cleared up. No ich now for months.

Yes you're right, its the powder blue that I have read is more susceptable. Thanks! I'll probably stay clear of the powder blue and look for a healthy, not to small, blue tang.

honestly all tangs are ick magnets , its just some its not as previlant . biggest thing is if the fish is healthy and happy it will most likely beat ick.

Thanks all! So I now have a decision to make as my other choice is a heniochus (bannerfish). I really like the fact this fish is a different shape than my others and I like the bold simple stripes. Of course it may nip at my feather duster and soft corals so I'm not sure.
