Perfectly healthy percula clown missing

I have had a pair of percula clowns for about six months. They have both been health and happy. They will take food right from your hand. I fed them last night and they both eat as normal.

This morning the male has dissapeared. The female looks fine and all other fish look fine as well.

I have checked my overflow box and my sump, as well as inside and outside of the tank, with no trace of my missing clown.

The tank is a 75 gallon reef with a mandarin, yellow tang, tow yellow tailed damsels, and the two clown fish.

I also have two serpant stars, a coral banded shrimp, several small algea eating hermit crabs, several snails, an open brain coral, a colt coral, several pieces of mushroom rock, and some small button polyps.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

I hate to ask.....but did you look outside the tank on the floor? Also, check the sump and the overflow.

Have had two clowns jump out overnight in the past few months so be sure to look all around the tank. They can go pretty far so check a few feet out. A dried up fish is very small. Do you have a cat or dog in the house?

What kind of serpent stars? Green Brittle by chance?

He may have just hide. Did you recently do anything to the tank or add anything? When i added my sixline a while back my female hide in the rockwork for a day before returning out in the open like normal and now I see her all the time. Keep an eye out and if your really worried move some of the rocks around the area that he spent the majority of the time. Hope you find him and welcome to TRT!

Cool

Eh, did you ever find your Percula!?

I am new to the world of Saltwater and just waiting on our tank to finish cycling, but this thread makes me raise a question... are Clownfish notorious jumpers? and if so do they require a tight fitting lid?
