Pairing Different Clowns

We had two orange clownfish and the larger died. We have now added a smaller maroon. The orange will charge and the maroon swims to the far corner. How long does it usually take for a pairing to occur, and is there anything we can do to help?

Unfortunately, they wont pair. One will likely kill the other, unless the tank is big enough for them to be far enough apart. They are different species. If you want them to pair up they need to the same type.

I am trying to pair up 2 false percs. One is orange and the other is black. They've been together about a month and nothing yet.

don't recall a hyrbrid false percula and a marron pair up...but check out this thread from Elegance Coral he did a expirement on hybrids

I'm betting that the maroon becomes the boss of the tank as he/she gets bigger... but they won't "pair".
