Newbie trying to it right with tank
Hello to those who read I have been catching advice from many of you. I just came home from the military when I had my son. He has fallen in LOVE with the fish tanks... (it doesn't even need fish just lights). I have been researching in depth about saltwater tanks and livestock. I am taking over my dad's 90+g tank it is well established (8yrs). I just purchased a few starter fish for myself. I have a very small scooter blenny (1.5 in) a sea slug, yellow corris (2in),golden headed sleeper(2-3 in) and a bicolored angel (3-4 in). It has ample live rock. my dad is fairly knowledgable but won't help (to me to kearn about this). A friend of mine is moving after setting up his tank and is trying to give me more fish...
My major question is can I add these fish safely?
2 green chromis
2 small anthias
1 small red lipped blenny
1 (2-3in) Naso Tang
He is willing to give them to me. Help on this issue would be awsome!!!
Thanks... Ashley

Ok... would it be bad to hang on to him till he gets a little bigger? he is only about 2-3 inches right now.... The store I buy my fish from said I could brng him in later for a credit. I thought he might be cool for a bit...?

 Welcome to TRT!
You told us about the new starter fish you bought, but nothing of the existing inhabitants in the system. How many fish and what types are actually in the system right now?
I also have an LFS that I buy small tangs from every once in a while and then grow them out and trade for store credit. This could be a good plan, but it all depends on the current bio-load on your system.

scooter blenny (1.5 in) , yellow corris wrasse (2.5-3 in) , sea slug, golden headed sleeper gobby, bicolor angel (3-4 in)
I had remove all the other fish from the tank because it had a 5-6 in marbled grouer and a 4 in rectangular tang.
There are a few snails and a few hermits..

In that case I would say go for it. The tang may be iffy, but if you have a place to trade it in already then I would give it a shot.
Good luck with it all.

Thanks so much for all the advice. I will let people know how it turns out when the fish get settled in to their new home in the next few days.

Hey Kelli, I actually ordered the same fish my friend was going to give me. I figured I had the tank and knowledge started for the new "kids" to come home that I would give them a try. Worst case is I fail my fish that really bothers me but I did talk to a bunch of people that (supposedly) select fish for tanks and they advised me of what I was going to pick out anyway.

Ok so here is my update. I ended up with a school of chromis (green and really good color), Lettuce nudibranch, powder brown tang, mandrin gobie, and a couple of emerald crabs. I am so happy everyone seems to be settling in so well. I had origanally recieved the Naso tand and a few other fish however I regret to say I had a bad order and most of them did not survive the night. the Naso was looking good and I put him in the show tank and he did good for the first day in it the died stressing my angel out so much that he died the next morning. I honestly believe that fish have persnalities. My angel moved out off his HOLE and helped to keep the tang in it. The angel kept trying to get the tang to eat and they didn't make it. My new tang however is doing great with a big appatite. He schools with my green chromis'. So that is the news. I will take pics in a few days. I want to let them settle in really well.
Has anyone ever had a lettuce nudibranch??? It is amazing I was looking for input on them.
Thanks for checking in.. Can't wait to show the pics of my new kiddos
For everyone thanking me for what I do... I do it for those who did it for me and for those whi support The military family... (I don't care about the view of the war)
