New blue throat trigger very shy

I just got a blue throat trigger yesterday and since then he is hidding under a LR (my LR are suspended on PVC pipes).
I know they are shy but how long does it take usually for them to overcome their shy phase?

Any other info and experience on bluethroat is welcome! (do they move rock around and make grunting sounds like other in this familly?, what type of food do you feed them...)

Thanks

no pics yet since he is hidding! As soon as he gets out of his cave I'll take pictures.

Indeed, they can take a few weeks to really start showing themselves. I had a pair once, and they eventually started eating from my hand. A great fish, good luck with it!

Thanks for the info!
It is good to know it can take 2 weeks, I would have worried...
For now I don't think he is eating.

Any food you recommend beside mysis and brine shrimps?

How would a blue throat trigger do in a 75 gallon with a flame angel, hippo tang, two mandarins, two maroon and gold clowns, a cleaner shrimp, and a fire shrimp? Would it eat my shrimp even though they are large?

start your own thread..and buy a bigger tank--hippo should be in a bigger tank when it grows anyway
