Mean Royal Gramma

Has anyone ever had a downright dirty, mean gramma? I have one that is trying to kill my skunk shrimp, firefish goby and my cardinal. I have tried everything except hiring a terminator to get this guy out of the tank.Any suggestions on how to get this slippery varmint out of the reef and into a net?

My husband was able to catch a wrasse and a Tomato clown using frozen krill and a tiny fish hook and line. It may work if your fish is an agressive eater also

I'd say that the Gramma is more aggressive than you other fish. I've had a few and they have been more defensive than aggressive, but I' m not too suprised.

mine was a wuss. hid in a rock and I never seen it out. made catching him easy. I took the whole rock out, waited then put the opening of the rock in a bowl of water, he got out quick. do a search for coke bottle fishtrap that may work. I wouldnt feed for a few days, then set the trap.

Get him hungry and have a net with food in it.

What exactly is your gramma doing? I've only heard of grammas opening up their mouths very wide, but (as said above) that's more defensive than offensive.

Thanks for all of your help folks! He appears to nip at fins if the others get too close to any of the rock. It has been a few days now and it seems to have settled down. The little shrimp seems to do the best at driving him back into the rock. If things turn violent again I will try some of the feed and trap methods described above. In retrospect, you may be very right in that it's more defensive than offensive. Thanks for all of your helpful input.
