You really should get away from the brine shrimp idea. Training your mandarin to eat a food item with such a low nutritional value is not going to help much in the long run. Also, the fact that brine shrimp are not a natural food product for marine fish (brine shrimp are from salt lakes and ponds, not the ocean) means that a picky predator like a mandarin may not recognize it as a prey item. I think you will have much better luck with the frozen mysis.

Yup use frozen mysis and use the diner trick, I used that for mine and it worked great!

i've had one for months in my 105 i feed frozen cyclops once a day and he is fat.

ive had my mandrin about 6 months in my 29 reef, i have the largest hang on refugium i could fit on it and it had about 4 inches of sand, about 10-15lbs of live rock rubble and ton of cheato and i added pods before i bought him, the fug has been a pod machine ever sence and the mandrins belly always looks full and hes always out hunting, one of my favorite fish
