Best I could do at indentifying this one is that it looks like a Nardosa New Caledonia .. not sure that's right but I know it's reef safe.

Louise, you're making me want to buy some starfish! Have you had trouble with any of the above? I've heard the lifespan in captivity of some of the linkia has proven to be quite poor, mostly diet related. Do you share that expereince, or is it just the blue linkia that carries that rep?

Well the Fromia I got from a friend a couple of months ago. She had it in her 265g before she moved to Houston but I'm not sure how long she'd had it. It really cruises the tank glass, sand and rock. I've had to rescue it several times from the intake on 1 PH but otherwise it's doing well.
The Orange Linkia we got the beginning of March this year. He is small but slowly growing. It's in my tank along with the big "nardosa" starfish. The Nardosa came with the 120g tank and I'm not sure how long the previous owners had it before we got it this past Christmas. They both move about the tank alot too. I find the large starfish hovers over areas of the rock that have yellow sponges on it alot. My tank is mostly softies, shrooms, LPS and is quite "dirty" ... I think they like it in there. I've also seen the Nardosa eating Asternia starfish on the glass before.

I'm not sure if the Marble is a hard one to find or not. I'll try to email the person I got it from and ask her a few questions about it. I "googled" Marble Fromia yesterday and the images that come up don't look exactly like mine, but that's what my friend said it was sold to her as.

These blue linkia pics reminded me of the "cliff hanger" pics I had of our blue linkia.
(click on the pic and you'll get a slideshow of about 15 pictures)
