Leopard Wrasse

Hello,

I bought a Leopard Wrasse exactly 1 week ago and haven't seen it in a while. It came out once last week Thursday and hasn't been visible since then. I have tops on my tank so it hasn't jumped out.

Any recommendations?

have you seen any coccoons in the morning? how big is the tank? they are pretty secretive. if there is enough food back behind the rocks than it may be a while before it ventures out much. do you have any big Green Brittle Stars in the tank?

coccoons! Wha are those? 125 gallon reef with 180 lbs of rock. No, I don't have a brittle star at all.

most wrasses/parrotfish form a mucus cocoon around themselves at night as a protection measure. anything breaks that cocoon, they bolt!

usually you see them in the morning. they dissolve pretty quickly. it looks like an opaque snot ball. they can either be free floating or stuck to a rock. usually about the size of the wrasse.

lots and lots of pods. they tend to be a lot like madarins when it comes to feeding.
