Ich problem!!

I just noticed that I've gotten an Ich infestation in my 14G biocube.. I noticed little white spots on the Royal Gramma yesterday, after I had been noticing that he was rubbing against the rocks more than usual. The only other fish I have in there is an Ocellaris Clown and it looks to me like he is still unaffected, but from what I hear it's only a matter of time, and I don't really have the option for a QT tank. Im really new to saltwater, (any kind of water in general lol..) and any advice is really appreciated! Im feeding a good amount and trying to keep water quality up w/ frequent changes, and I was looking into dosing garlic with the formula one pellets I've got and was wondering if what I'd gotten at Krogers would work. It's Howard's Garlic Juice, and the only ingredients are garlic juice, vinegar, and salt. I don't know if the vinegar in such small amounts would really affect the pH too much, since it would be a pretty small amount, but I know it's supposed to lower it since it's acidic. Maybe if i just keep testing every couple days..?
Thanks for the help!
..don't want to lose all my fish 3 months into my first tank!

Hey Jlgarry.
Sorry to hear of your problems with Saltwater. But, do not fret too much. Fish can get over ich, as long as they continue to eat and are exposed to as little stress as possible. I would steer clear of the garlic you already have. I use Kents Garlic Extreme in all of my fish food. I add Garlic extreme and Selcon to my fish food everytime I feed.
I have been through ick in my 240 gallon tank, and catching the fish was out of the question. As long as your fish are fed well, most of the time they can overcome ick. But remember that once ick is in your system, it will remain in the water unless you remove all the fish for several weeks. During this "fallow" period the ick will die.
But for many (including myself) this is not an option.
Many people under estimate the immune system of our fish
Good-Luck

Hey, welcome to TRT!

I imagine that garlic stuff would be ok, but better to get fresh garlic cloves and crush to get the oils out. Then add that. Just keep up the husbandry and hopefully the fish will recover. Of course using a hospital tank would be the best solution, but I understand not wanting or having the ability to set all that up. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome! I tried out the garlic juice, but it didn't seem like it made them go for the food any more than normal. So, I'm just gonna try to increase feedings slightly and watch my water params. pretty closely to try and boost their immune systems. Seems like it's working well so far! spots are few and far between.
