Well that's a pretty small strike zone. almost all fish that won't outgrow the 40g will fit in a lions mouth. What about an oversized tomato clown?

I had a small volitan lion in my tank and when I added a niger trigger to the tank he still went after it....they were almost the same size.

my first tank ever I had came with a fuzzy dwarf, a volitan, and a snowflake. It was a peaceful community. The feeders may not have agreed.

looking back the snowflake probably shouldnt have been there, but I can in good faith say the two lions are fine in that size tank assuming you can deal with the water quality thing with a decent system set up and skimmer.

I had a fuzzy dwarf in my 34g for about a week. My two barrier reef clownfish chased him out of the tank.
