fixing territorial tang

hey everyone i have this yellow tang and he has been in there for about a month and a week ago i put in a coral beauty at first he seemed angry and became zooming at it threatening it with its spine and was very territorial the problem with the threatening and the charging is over with ( i think it was just to show dominance ) the territorial thing is still going on but its pretty bad i dont have to much live rock i have an incline of rocks on one side a small hill on the other the tang is mostly in control of the incline but I'm beginning to think he thinks he owns the whole tank because yesterday i swa him charge at my coral beauty to get him out of the hill part i want to fix this behavior and i have a theory on how to do it first i will buy more live rock and add to the incline to give the yelow tang more territory but arrange it so that he cant see the hill when he goes to sleep so he wont know if the coral beauty is in the hill or not and secondly i want to make it so that the yellow tang cant get into this hill type thing by putting a large piece of live rock on top of it ( the yellow tang can only get in from the top the coral beauty can get in through a small side opening ) do you think this will work if it doesnt then i will bring the coral beauty back ( my 5 year old sister loves the yellow tang and she would get really upset if i did take him away ) so if you guys think this idea will or wont work just tell me thanks bye

What i would do is take the tank out put him in QT. Then move rock around to form a "new tank" and if you want to add some more live rock (cycled first!) to add that's fine. Let the coral beauty stay in the main tank for a week or two to let him stake out his dominance and then you can put the tang back in. Tangs can be agressive, and in any situation like this it's best to put the least agressive in first and more agressive in last so the least aggressive fish can have a chance. hopefully with this technique the tang will think it's in a new tank and have to re establish it's home. good luck!

Also i wanted to say what was the size of your tank. B/c having a yellow tang, coral beauty and all those other fish i see in there your tank may be over crowded as well and everybody is unhappy b/c they don't want to share a home And if that is the case then taking the coral beauty back might be your best option.
