Heres a good tip that i found helpful; find suitable fish that would occupy all levels of the tank(lower, mid-center, and top regions) so that the tank looks full and more natural... What kind of set-up do you have? what lights? Filter? etc...

Welcome to TRT!!!

What types of fish are you interested in? Do you want them to be pretty, to serve a purpose in the reef, or possibly both? Answering those questions may help get things going in the right direction.

There are so many to choose from though, so it may be helpful for you to look at a site like www.liveaquaria.com for the Marine Fish they are offering. The reason I like using this site for research is they have all of the care and compatibility information listed at top, next to the picture for each fish.

Yes the direction of the reef will really help on answering the question. I like fish that bring colors and utility in my reef. I have a Canary Wrasse(eats pest) Coral Beauty Angel(eats algae), and a Engineer Goby(shifts all the sand aroung my rocks).

such a long list, you should tell us what you want and that will help us narrow what you can have. You want to get the calmest fish all the way to the most aggressive fish for last.
