Question

Fish list ok?

Tanks specs: (it is in the proccess of being fully setup so it will be a while before i get any of these fish just thought id get and idea) 75 gallon, 120lbs live sand, 60lbs live rock, skimmer, 2 powerheads, metal halide lighting (picking it up this sunday), heater. i think thats it i might be forgetting something...

Just wondering whether i can have these fish in a 75 gallon without any problems:

1 Yellow tang
2 percula clown fish
1 flame angel
1 six line wrasse
1 purple pseudochromis
1 naso tang (i might just get this instead of the yellow if i cant have both)
1 royal gramma

tell me if this is overkill or if i need to get rid of anything off my list that wont get along with each other.....

that is a lot of fish for that sized tank. what kind of corals are you thinking about putting in there?

i would nix the naso. i feel they need to be kept in a tank that is at least 6' in length. the yellow tang will be ok in a 75g. the others seem fine, not a big fan of clownfish (they are just fancy dressed damsels ). i am guessing you are thinking about getting an anemone. if so i would not get one for at least 6 months to a year after the tank has been cycled and stable.

the flame angel is pretty hit or miss with corals. they can be nippy.

royal gramma-fine choice
six line-fine choice
purple pseudocromis-they can be pretty bully. i would prolly go with a firefish instead. though with that sized tank it may have enough room to not bother your royal gramma. it is that whole semi similar shaped fish aggression thing.

HTH,

G~

I think if you want it to be a full blown reef you should cut down on the fish. Maybe go with the clownfish, the pseudochromis(or wrasse) , and the royal gramma. Angles are iffy in reef tanks since they like to munch on some corals and clams. Personally(in my opinion) the tank is to small for the yellow and defiantley too small for the naso. I know of many people who have kept a yellow tang in that size tank but bigger is always better.
