Could my goby be in danger of choking on larger sand?

So...maybe I'm just being a nervous new mom, to a little yellow watchman goby, but I figured I might as well ask...

I made the mistake of using about two handfuls or so of larger substrate from my LFS to start the live sand process a little while back. I added this to my sugar-sized dry aragonite sand I already had in the tank.

Some areas in the tank have more than others (see pics) but most of the larger stuff is sitting on the top of the sand.

I got a goby recently and started thinking I might have heard somewhere that they can choke on larger pieces of sand or coral...is this true? or just a myth? I did a little search on the internet but didn't find much.

He seems to be doing great, he's sifting some sand near his little cave...but I just want to know if I should worry about this or do something about it like take the sand out (PITA)...

I was also thinking about getting a diamond goby some day, and I know they sift sand too...think this will be a problem for him too?

I'm thinking...the sand in the wild must be pretty diverse...so maybe it's not a problem? and I'm just being overprotective?

I have one of those yellow watchman gobies and he doesn't even sift any sand. He is pretty worthless when it comes to that. He just sits in his little cave and watches everything. I also have a orange spotted goby and he does all the sifting, I have sand that has bigger chunks in it and fine substrate. When he seems to get a big chunk he spits it out. Not sure if that is what your goby will do.

seriously doubt it

I have a diamond goby that is always pushing sand through its gills...never had an issue, that is what they are made for...pretty cool that your yellow watchman is working for ya!
