Color Changing

I know its not really a reef fish, but I have a Juv. Emperor angel, and I have been looking for info on roughly how long it takes for these fish to mature and change colors. I know its not an exact science and you can't say like 1yr and 3mo. or anything like that, but just wondering if anyone has seen this process and just a rough guess.

When the juvenile reaches a length of 5 inches (12 cm), the colors completely change.

I guess I never thought to ask, will they not mature and change color in captivity?

I have heard differing things about that. I don't know. I know alot of people have trouble with koran angels doing that. So maybe someone that knows what they are talking about will chime in.

another thing that I have heard conflicting is that you can or can not keep 2 angels in the same tank.

2 angels in 1 tank is risky. Very risky. I do know that much.

Had my 3 1/2 in. juvenile emperor for at least 6-8 months before noticing any transformation. Now, 2 1/2 years later, she is about 6 inches long and has complete adult colors( best I can tell). She is an agressive fish and even forced out my purple tang that I had for about three years. Only she, along with a tomato clown and a royal gramma inhabit my 125 gallon tank.
