Cleaner Shrimp

Really find cleaner shrimp to be very cool to watch do their cleaning routine. 30 gallon tank with 2 clowns, 2 lawnmower blennys, and a few inverts. I added 2 camel shrimp and haven't seen them since though I know they do hide alot as I have about 40lbs of live rock in the tank. In the past my luck with shrimp has been non existant. My water quality appears perfect as I am using RO/DI filtered water, and at the recommendation of aqaurium store personnel even added a grounding probe for possible stray electricity. I am using a Super Skimmer rated for 65 gal, temp is 78, and water parameters all are good. Any ideas on what I am missing? Thank you in advance for any ideas/solutions.

What is the salinity in your tank vs the aquarium store? Inverts do not like drastic swings in salinity. Just a thought.

with a 30 gallon tank just be very careful. Its easy to throw off parameters with water changes. Have you ever treated your tank with Meds or copper?
How do you acclimate your shrimp.
I usually drip acclimate for 2 or 3 hours

Cleaner Shrimp

I will certainly have to look at the salinity difference between the store tank and mine. I have put them into a 10gal observation tank with the Real Seawater that comes 5gal in a box and had them there for 2 weeks with no problems. Within less than a day of transferring them to my 30 gal they were DOA. Yes water changes do make things difficult. The only good thing is I use a 100 gal stock tank in which I place the output from the RO/DI filter then have a pump circulating it continuosly. I mix the water and get it stabilized there before adding it to my aquarium which seems to help. Is this helping you think or hurting me more? Should I try a different setup?
