Chelmon mulleri or Mulleri Butterfly...

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this fish. It is similar to the copper band butterfly except it has brown or darker vertical stripes instead of yellow and it has a smaller nose. I was reading and they say it is hardier than the copper band, and they are more likely to eat frozen foods. I am thinking about getting him to help control the aiptasia problem I am having. Anyone have any experience with this fish?

I've seen it from time to time, but never had one myself. I'm not certain I would trust it without a lot of research, to be honest, as many butterflies are not exactly reef safe. Have you looked at wetwebmedia or done a search here?

Nothing comes up in wwm about the mulleri. I have read that they can be kept in a reef tank with caution.

Try searching with the alternate spelling of Chelmon muelleri. That turned up a few hits for me.

I have had them both and they both have picked at my zoas and lps corals.

Had a Copper band he loved aptasia and zoas and open brains. Beautiful fish but he had to go.
