Brittle Star Question

I didn't see a forum for inverts so I will just ask this here.
I've got two black brittle stars and I was advised to feed them both a silverside every three days or so. They won't eat them though, they just throw them away for the crabs.

Do I need to even bother extra feedings for them as they are detrivores? And if so is there something frozen they would prefer?

Brittlestars are scavengers and IMO do not need special feedings.

Great that makes me feel better, there is plenty of detritus for them in the tank anyway.
