Blood & Peppermint Shrimp Compatibility

I have a few questions about shrimp compatibility but first here is the background. I currently have a Blood Red Fire Shrimp that has done well in my 24-gallon Aquapod for more than six months. I intend to upgrade from the Aquapod to a 60-gallon cube in the near future.

I wanted to know the community’s opinion on keeping the Blood Red Shrimp with Peppermint Shrimp (it would be in the 60). At my LFS (Tropicorium, an amazing place) they keep the shrimp in the same tank for sale and tell me that the shrimp do fine. Live Aquaria states about the Blood Shrimp, “While it will tolerate its mate, others of its own kind will be chased away or harassed.” Another LFS tells me that usually with two different types of shrimp, one will eventually be killed due to territoriality.

The main reason for wanting the peppermint shrimp was to kill Aiptasia. My uncle got one for his Aiptasia tank and there are near none now. I have never seen so many Aiptasia in one place; three weeks later, the only ones that still survived are the larger that he intends to use Joe’s Juice on. I was told by a LFS that this is not always the case; they do not always eat them. Myself, I only get a few Aiptasia now and then but if I didn’t have to deal with them ever again I would be immensely happy.

I have those two same shrimp in my 85 gal and they haven't fought once that I can see.. granted they don't hang out together, but they don't seem to bug each other either.. maybe I just got lucky? I have a ton of LR (150+ lbs) so that might be a factor.. lots of good hiding places, that and the tank must be just large enough so the two of them had have their own space.
