Banded Possum Wrasse & 6 line Wrasse Prob!!!

Ok just some Q & A. I just went and picked up my Banded Possum Wrasse last night and after all was said and done my other fish hate him they bite and flip there tale at him. He is so peaceful its not funny! Now I have had a 6 line wrasse in the tank for some time and he picks a fight with the little guy and runs him around the tank when ever he sees him. I know the 6 line does not get along with other males very well of its own kind but I dont get what has him and the other fish so up in arms. The fish have all been in the tank for a year and have never done this before! The Possum is in a small tank by him self as of right now.

Other fish: F... Clownfish, Yellowtail Blue Damsel.

No offense, but it's widely known that mixing wrasses usually doesn't work. The Damsel and Clown will be territorial with any fish than can intimidate too.

The possum wrasse is one of the most docile wrasses available, if you want another small fish you'd do well to get one that can roll with the punches of the punky trio you've got going.

None taken, I know they don’t always work with more than one in a tank. We had a canary wrasse in the tank before and it did fine. The 6 line and it would play for hours. This tells us that our 6 line is a male for the biggest part and the canary was a girl (He must have thought she had a cute fin). I like the possum a lot more than the 6 line and it might be time for some re-stocking of the tank, the boss of the house can put her hand in the tank and the possum comes up and wants her to rub its sides. Odd I say! Well thanks for the insight.

in most cases the closer the fish look like each other the more likely they will not like each other. possums and six lines are pretty close family wise, so it was a long shot that they would work well together.

Yeah the Possum now has his own little tank until he gets bigger. I might let one of my friends take the 6 line and the F... Clownfish of my hands in a few weeks.
