Anyone Ever See The Effects Of Cyanide?

My first Black Tang, came in looking great, fins hels erect, but soon swam UPSIDE DOWN! Craziest thing I ever saw! Upside down WITHOUT clamped fins. He died the second day, appearing to be very healthy. Was this the result of having been captured with Cyanide? Here's what it looked like! Crazy!!

I remember an article in something like FAMA about this a very long time ago. It said a marker for cyanide poisoning was blood in the belly. IF you still have the body you could open it up carefully and see.

Don't know if it was cyanide but most likely it had a bad swim bladder. Thats why fish usely go upside down. Ask your dealer where it came from.

They all come from Christmas Island. He's being replaced.....I just wondered if anyone had seen the effects of cyanide. I've never seen a fish die without clamped fins!

my first thought was the swim bladder too... although I don't know how or why that happens on fish...
I've only ever seen one black tang in person, they're quite beautiful (the pricetag is quite... er... beautiful, too). I'm so sorry!
I'm assuming that the company you bought from, is replacing him for free?
