The gramma didn't make it. He disappeared into the rocks after only feeding once, and was lost after about 18hrs. I acclimated him for about 90 minutes and checked SG, as I do all my fish since they're usually purchased at 1.020 and my tank is 1.026, so I don't know what stressed him so badly. I replaced him with the dotty, who's been doing great. He's a major bully tho. He's been slowly picking on my purple fire fish and finally finished him off on Sunday.
Not sure what to do now for future fish...

Yea...many a dotty has done that, but they are soooo coool nonetheless. Which dotty did you get again? The striped or sankey's (
Pseudochromis sankeyi) is the most chill IME, but tank-raised orchid dottybacks (
Pseudochromis fridmani) can be well mannered too, and they are beautiful. Here's a little ditty on dotties if you're interested:

How big is the system again? I just added four zebra barred dartfish (
Ptereleotris zebra) to our 135 reef, and they are amazing (way more colorful than pictures of them look), and they are holding their own in community tank with some semi-aggressive tankmates. Very active during the day too--always swimming in the water column. Watching them pile out of their hole is like watching the clowns pile our of the clown car at the circus (by the way, I hate clowns!).
