75G full proof fish?

I'm wanting to start a 75G reef. There's many fish I'm finding just won't work out in a reef tank. Granted I understand reef tanks are not about the fish, but I would like to have some fish I can enjoy in there. What kind of fish would be full proof for that size tank? I wanted to put some clowns, banggai cardinals and a tang (red sea sailfin or purple). Would that work? My two favorite fish copperbanded butterlfy and flame angel, I heard won't work. What is your opinion on these?

david i will say all but the copperband will work . also look into some of the fairy or flasher wrasses . maybe a chaulk bass , or a few bartletts anthias . you may look at getting REEF AQUARIUM FISHES by Scott Michael , this is a great book to get ideas !

I agree that most of what you are looking at will work. The book recommended would help you immensely when setting the tank up, too many people find out after the fact that one species of their inhabitants won't work w/ their others. Using a book like that will help you put together a list ahead of time, probably saving you money and trouble in the end.

Oh, and welcome to TRT, you are going to get "much better" information here than over at the "Marine Aquarium" forum on spyspace!! The "full" proof fish thread title looked familiar!!

Haha, thanks. Oh I could tell from that first reply posting in that group on myspace that I was going to have to look elsewhere. I'm a member of a few herp related forums online, I know these places are great sources of information.

Over time, either of those two tangs will outgrow your tank. However, if you buy a small one, it will give you plenty of enjoyment for a long time before it gets too big for your tank. Remember, though, you should only have one of those two tangs in your tank! Amazing how such a seemingly "big" tank fills so quickly, isn't it???
