zoos and button polyps

Is there any special placement needed for these? ie. more light, less light, high flow, low flow ....... or do they pretty much get along anywhere in the tank?

The reason I ask is that most of mine have been closed for a week. They just stopped opening, in different areas of the tank, and different types, they all stopped opening.

I have that issue too - although they weren't open at the LFS too so maybe they're just not developed yet... but I can't shake the fact that they might just be mad at me!
Also - I have lots of polyps that I can't identify... i.e. how do you tell a zoanthid from a button polyp? - or are those the same thing? I literally have at least 6 different kinds of polyps with the same shape, but each is a different color. Weird, huh?

They are very similar for sure, but my button polyps are considerably larger than my zos, thats how I can tell them apart. I would not buy them from the store unless I saw them opened there first. They come in quite a few different colors from what I have seen. Some of them have come back to me since I upped my SG as I was using a bad hydrometer
