Zoanthid extruding brown stringy stuff

Sorry about the image quality, I left my camera at home and had to use a webcam. Can anyone tell me why my zoanthis are expelling this brown stringy stuff and what it is?

Is this the thanks I get for giving them a proper water change?

I would keep an eye on them but it sounds like they are expelling waste

In the picture, the top four or five have the strings coming out of the center.

I think they are done now. It started in the back and moved towards the front. Eventually all of the polyps expelled the brown stuff and at times the strings were about 6" long. I don't think I've seen them do that before, I wish they would have done it before the water change. Oh well.

mine do it all the time, I've never had any die. In fact they grow like crazy. I don't know what they are excreting, but I would guess its polyp poop.
