what kind of light, flow, feeding, filtration, and water parameters do you have?

I think there all kinda different and a bit tempermental....

I have about 20 colors one inparticular did nothig for 8 months and in the last 6 weeks has gone from 10 polyps to 50+

Another I cannot frag fast enough...

Zoa growth is expentional If a polyop splits 3 times a months you'll have 4 polyps the next month all 4 slit 3 times youll have 16 and the next month 80 Get the picture. but there not all like that.. once colony size is reached there is no room for the inner polyps to split and only the edged grow..

experiment with lighting and flow and see what works best but like I said they can all be a little different.

Good Luck!

I have a 75 gallon, 2 MH 150 watt, low/medium flow,
75 gal sump/Remora pro hang on skimmer,
zero nitrates, all other parameters are in the
norm, I feed phytoplankton everyday.

I have several colonies that have to reproduced at all
in months nothing fancy, i just want to learn how to get them to grow, because i want some fancy ones.

Like the distance around the tank? The parameters were mentioned, the nitrate levels were undetected. What would redox help? And more importantly, how could you possibly adjust this without an ozonizer (which has hazardous risks associated with it, and to my knowledge has not been definitively shown to have any benefit to a tank)?

nephrurus, not real sure that you're doing anything wrong with the zoas. sometimes they'll grow fast, sometimes slowly. Ive found that they can at times be over-lit, but I doubt that's the case with your 150W setup. As with all softies, they may like a bit dirtier water, so consider feeding the tank more often (though I'm not sure phyto is the way to go... I just feed the fish more and let the zoas get what's not eaten). Of course, this comes at risk of algae issues, so you'll need to strike a delicate balance.
