yellow growth


I got some rock from my lfs and it has produced something that looks to me like a yellow type of sponge with what looks like soft tube fingers on it.. What is this????

Yes they are fine for the most part.
A few sponges get out of control, but mostly fine. Just watch it

Thank you for your help.. I will keep my eyes open. the tank just got started and I have alot to learn. But I also want to keep the bad stuff at bay..

No... Its not much yet. I dont have an 1/8 the tank most of you have ..My idea was a fowlr and i just got started.. It just got its first residents last week. Its not worthy of pics... but maybe someday!!!

oh dont worry about that..ive seen some REALLY bad tanks in my life..i just want a close up of the sponge if its possible..i may be able give a pinpoint ID on it.

it almost looks like the beginning stages of cleona celata .. i found it on about .com in the sponge section under sponge sea squirt and tunicate.. I will send a pic asap..
