Xenia versus Zoa

My pulsing xenia is growing and now attached to a rock where I have Zoa.
Are they going to prevent each others growing or one of them will get sting and died ?
Thanks!

I would say that one or the other is gonna win the fight and clame the rocks. the most chances are the zoas are going to. there are one of the more aggressive types of corals as far as defending them selves

both zoas and xenia are in my opinion more likely to use fast growth rates rather than stinging to outcompete neighbors. Xenias grow quite quickly and I would theorize they would shade the zoas. no matter how they are going to compete... they are going to compete. I would consider fragging one or both and trading the frag. Just read up on fragging first, especially the zoas who can release toxins. Good luck

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Based on what you all say, I'm going tofrag the xenia.
I cannot get it out of water for that, should I run carbon to avoid problem with toxin or is it fine?
Thanks

Its always a good idea to run carbon if you are doing something in the tank that may release toxins. Fragging the Xenia is the best approach as its going to way out compete the zoas for light by shading them. If you have a sump, put them in your sump and let them propagate some more. Throw in a gallon or so of rubble, let them cover it, pull the rubble out to trade.
