xenia transfer
hey guys i got a xenia question for ya.....
i have some blue ant. and some silver pulsing in my current tank and ill be setting up my new tank in a few days....
after the cycle....how long do you think i should wait before adding the xenia to the new system?
i dont want to risk it melting away....but i cant leave the current tank they are in up too long after transfering everything else....
and my LFS's are a fliping joke so dont even suggest them holding them for me....i wouldnt trust them to watch their pets more less my corals....

i have no issue growing xenia.....its growing like weeds in spots of my tank.....
i have a few frags of the blue i could test the water with once all the cycling is done.....so that way im not risking my 2 colonies....

If you do the transfer using the same LR and same sandbed you should not have to wait too long. You might see a spike in your nitrates or maybe a few other things....but as long as they don't shoot up too high you should be fine.

i have more than enough of the silver if you need a "test dummy". I have not had a problem with xenia either- ihave pink, silver pumping, and blue...and they are all well. (and my nitrates are 0)

i would prefer to test the waters with a more common xenia instead of riskin ANY of my blue....i might get up with yall tamika once the time comes to start switching....
i will be using all the same rock but a new sand bed...just HIGHLY seeded of my current tank system.....but all the rock wont be added till after the water and sand cycles for awhile then ill be SLOWLY adding rock into the new system.....im guessing the total time for this move is gona be about 4 months give or take a month or more depending on how long everything takes to level out and if there are any issues once things start getting aded to the new system...
HEY KYRIE that xenia is BEAUTIFUL......thanks for posting that pic....

Hey DJ, I have some pink pulsing Xenia, you can have a frag for free to try in your new setup to make sure it is making it...I have a bunch....so if you need to do multiple tests you can.....
