Xenia Problem - Maybe

My pom pom xenia are looking different today than I have ever seen them before. I know when they are irritated they will shrivel up, but they just appear to have some stalks that are shrinking and not pumping. I have had these for close to a year and have never seen them like this. Do they do this from time to time?

I know! I'm working on getting my current water parameters. I'll post them when I'm done.

I think I may have found the problem. Here are my parameters. What do you think?

Temp - 78.9
PH - 8.05 (norm for my tank this time of year is 7.95 to 8.1 with the windows closed up all the time)
Calcium - 420
dKh -6
Phos - 0
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0

Even better!

I decided that this would be a great opportunity to hook up my new temp controller. I put the probe in the water, waited 5 minutes for it to stablize and it said my temp was 72.9 degrees. This explains why I thought the water felt cold.

The thermometer I used above was my digital JBJ Lighting thermometer that I knew better than to trust. I had problems with it before. I have used a stick on and a floating thermometer that I trusted more. When I first realized the JBJ was bad (months ago) I contacted JBJ because the thermometer was only a month old and they never got back with me. Even after several attempts on my part.

I haven't had the heater hooked up for months. It's on now. I'm much more comfortable with letting it run with the controller. I had one stick on in my old tank and just about cooked everything.
