Will my mushroom 'move' on his own?

I have red mushroom around the size of a quarter, maybe smaller. Anyways, when I bought this it was attached to a small rock. My hermit crabs didn't seem to like where it was a pushed into a hole of a rock that is at the bottom/base of the stack. I've tried to carefully reach it with tweezers but no luck and I don't want to disassemble my aquascaping. I had another mushroom on the same rock but it decided earlier it wanted off. Is it possible it will move up the sides of the hole to reach the light?

It's not that your hermits didn't like where it was positioned- it's that your crabs were doing what they tend to do- pick up stuff, turn it over, inspect it a little, and put it back, but unfortunately they never put it back in the right place!

A mushroom isn't gonna move. If there is a little light reaching the hole, then it might come back and grow out from the hole.

If someone tells a story about a moving mushroom- it'd be the first I've heard of such a thing.

Gwen has it right, hopefully he will slowly grow, you might be able to help it move useing flow to that area, they can detach and flaot away, but if you can not reach it , then not sure what you can do.

Kelli,
you mushrooms will need to get use to the increased light, the many variatioooons of mushrooms like a good bit of light and others dont . once they decide what they like they will either stay or detach and flaot to somewhere else.

Cool Tim! I gradually increased the light but they aren't as happy at they used to be I may try and switch the regular mushrooms to the 5.5 and put the rics in the 24 I think everyone will be happier that way.

There is some light getting down there the problem is I don't know how deep the hole is or how far down it fell. If it does move I guess it would be pretty slow. I'll keep checking to see if it crawls out. If it does I'll let you know. Right now it's just hoping for the best.

Good News! It seems to be moving and/or growing closer to the top. For awhile there I had given up. Tried to take a picture but the movement on on the water surface made it difficult. If I'm lucky I may be able to post the picture soon.

One thing is for sure. It sure does seem to have grown wider.
