I have had a
toadstool coral for a while in my 90 gal. tank. Recently it has not been opening up sometimes and sometimes it will open and close a couple times a day. It hasnt always been doing this, but then today it looked almost like the stalk of the toadstool was popped and deflated and its sagging over, but its still out. All of my other corals are fine including my 3 sps, frogspawn, torch coral, mushrooms and some other Lps. The only thing is that my alkalinity is high. The KH value in dKH is sometimes 16 and 14 and Alkalinity is 5.71 and 4.91. I dont know why its so high but im going to try and lower it. Could high alkalinity affect toadstools and
leather corals more then other corals? Im just trying to find out whats wrong. Thanks
